Sports-Tennis!

Shepherd tennis girls are thee best! I took on the challenge of learning a new sport this year! I decided to play tennis! It is turning out to be a lot of fun, and some pretty good exercise. We have nine lovely ladies on the Girls Shepherd Tennis team! We practice everyday for about two hours. You'd be surprised how well playing in 110 degree gets you in shape, and a wonderful tennis tan! So far our team is undefeated. I also am undefeated in both my singles and doubles matches. Out of nine girls, I am number four on the team. I started out as number six, but fought my way up the rank ladder. Recently, I challenged one of my team mates. A challenge can change your ranking depending on if you win or lose. You either move up one spot, or move down. The girl I had to challenge has had six years of private tennis lessons, so I was unsure if I could beat her or not. I brought my "A" game though, and ended up beating her 8 games to 5! You can imagine I was pretty excited. The only problem is I think she is mad at me! Oh well, I am looking forward to playing the rest of the season, and hoping that I, and our team, stay undefeated! :)

Beginning of 9th Grade!

WOW! That is all I can say. I can't believe I am finally a freshman. I remember when I was a little "sevey" admiring all the older kids, but now I am that so called older kid! This year is going to go by extremely fast...I can already tell. The days just keep flying by. My classes this year are a little rough, since I am taking all advanced and honors classes. Some of these classes are really easy, but others, like my Honors Geometry class, are unbearably difficult. I am trying to drink in all the different Theorems and Postulates Mrs. Coleman throws at us, but I can't seem to understand the concept. I can't wait till I am done with that class, and back into good 'ole Algebra II! I am first and a half chair in the advanced orchestra again. I am tied with my stand partner AGAIN, but I am hoping to beat him on one of my playing tests and maybe earn my first solo. Overall, I am excited for this year and being one of the "big kids" on campus. This year is going to be a blast!
